The classic canyon day, entirely private
Your private tour takes you through Oak Creek Canyon (only from Sedona) to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Once in the Park you will be stopping at multiple overlooks, including the Village, Mather Point, Yavapai Point, Duck on a Rock, Lipan Point and the historic Desert View Watchtower. Lunch at the historic El Tovar lodge on the rim is included. We also offer an optional leisurely walk along the paved Trail of Time on the Canyon's rim. 115 miles, north through Oak Creek Canyon. Sedona is our primary hub and offers the widest choice of tours.
From Flagstaff
80 miles — a 90-minute drive through the Coconino and Kaibab National Forests. Flagstaff is the nearest major city to the South Rim.
From Williams
60 miles north on AZ-64, with convenient access to the South Rim. Williams sits on historic Route 66.
From Tusayan
Two miles from the park gate. Tusayan pick-ups put you at the rim within minutes.

Your Journey to the Park
Sedona and Flagstaff departures. The drive is part of the day. From Sedona you climb the switchbacks of Oak Creek Canyon; from Flagstaff you skirt the San Francisco Peaks, the highest mountains in Arizona at over 12,000 feet. Then the forest opens out onto the Colorado Plateau — the vast, uplifted block of layered rock the canyon is carved into.

Six stops along the rim: the Village, Mather Point, Yavapai Point, Duck on a Rock, Lipan Point and the Desert View Watchtower — Mary Colter’s 70-foot stone tower from 1932, looking east toward Marble Canyon. Because the vehicle is yours alone, you stay at each one as long as you like.
A Scenic Stroll After Lunch
Lunch is a sit-down meal at El Tovar, the 1905 National Historic Landmark hotel on the rim. Afterwards, if your group is up for it, there is an optional 0.7-mile stroll along the paved Trail of Time, where every metre of path stands for a million years of canyon history.
Painted Desert and Navajo Nation
Sedona and Flagstaff departures. Leaving through the park’s east gate, the road drops into the Painted Desert with views over the Little Colorado River Gorge — a striking, lesser-known canyon on Navajo land. The last stop is the Cameron Trading Post, a historic 1916 post on the edge of the Navajo Nation.

We keep packing simple — a cooler of water, Gatorade, chips and energy bars travels with us, and your guide carries the rest. To stay comfortable through the day, we recommend you bring:
- Sun protection — hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
- Layers you can add or remove as temperatures change
- A refillable water bottle (we keep it topped up)
